HM 150.39 Stability of a Floating Body, Additional Bodies

This simple apparatus for determining the metacentre of a model hull is particularly suitable for experiments in small groups. The experiments are performed in the filled tank of HM 150.06. 2 transparent, watertight Plexiglass bodies with different rib forms (hard and round chine) are fitted with horizontal and vertical sliding weights. The position of the sliding weights as well as the draught of the floating body can be read on scales. An inclinometer indicates the angle of heel.
