ET 805 Steam Power Plant 20kW with Process Control System

The ET 805 steam power plant is particularly designed for training purposes in the area of power plant technology and thermal system tests. Due to the size and complexity of the system the operating behaviour in many aspects corresponds to that of actual large scale plants and offers a training that is as close to the real thing as possible. 
  A steam boiler heated by gas/oil and an upstream electrically heated superheater create hot steam for a single-stage industrial turbine. The turbine powers a synchronous generator which can be operated in parallel mains or isolated operation. All relevant parameters are recorded by sensors and displayed in the process control system (PCS). The operation of the system can be monitored completely from the PCS. The control system operates based on modern touch screen technology. The system records critical operating states in alarm lists and warning messages and the affected system components automatically go into emergency-shutdown. 
  The system consists of four individual assemblies:

steam generator assembly with superheater and feed water treatment, steam turbine assembly with generator and condenser, wet cooling tower and a control station with PCs and touch screens. Facilitates flexible adaptation to lab space.

  With the electrical superheater, the steam temperature can be controlled precisely. The feed water treatment consists of an ion exchanger, a metering pump for chemicals and a heated feed water tank for pre-heating and degassing. The steam turbine is equipped with an electronic speed control via PLC and a digital synchronisation unit. A mechanical overspeed protection with quick-action valve protects the turbine from overspeed.
